The movie Kangxi and Louis XIV is a Chinese-French co-production made to celebrate the 60th anniversary of diplomatic relations between China and France in 2024. The film tells the story of over three hundred years ago, when the French King Louis XIV sent six mathematicians to China, initiating a profound exchange of science and technology, trade, and cultural thoughts between the two worlds. At that time, Kangxi, the Emperor of China's Qing Dynasty, engaged in active interactions with Louis XIV with an inclusive mindset, giving birth to a remarkable tale of mutual learning between these two great civilizations of the East and the West, leaving behind a series of precious historical memories.
